Chartered Institute of Purchase & Supply – WA regional committee – sustainable procurement event presents ACCSR & IWM – Corporate Social Responsibility in procurement.
27 June 2013
Leeora Black from the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility
In his role as a member of the WA regional committee for the Chartered Institute of Purchase & Supply Australasia, (CIPSA). Jake Hickey Instant Waste’s Resource Recovery Development Manager. Presented alongside Leeora Black; Managing Director from the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ACCSR) on the key issues in Corporate Social Responsibility & Waste recycling.
We co-ordinated the event, attended by forty key industry & environmental stakeholders who met up with procurement professionals & government representatives at this Corporate Social Responsible & Waste Sustainability in Action – breakfast presentation at the Ecological Centre on Perry Lakes Drive in Bold Park, Western Australia.
The sun rose just as this sustainable event started and Bold Park was looking its best as we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land & discussed the best ways to influence stakeholders and make the sustainable procurement choices that will enable us all to use the limited resources we have available to us. A review of where your company’s money is spent & how to limit risk to its marketing brand were critical points when slave labour and foreign sweat shops were considered.
