What bins and waste management do I need for my business?

Waste management is one of the most fundamental services needed for any business – regardless of what industry you’re in or what products or services you sell. From small businesses with nothing more than staff’s personal waste and printer paper to large corporations or construction sites with general, recyclable and hazardous waste, how do you know what bins you need for your company?

Here we’ve created a side by side comparison table of each bin style we can provide: front lift, rear lift, hook lift and skip bins; and what industries, waste, capacity and collection frequency they’re suitable for. Below they are listed in order of size/capacity.

This will give you a quick overview and comparison of our bin types for business – you can find more detailed information by clicking the links to each bin style page.

Other waste to consider

The above bins are generally for comingled waste that is safe to dispose of. If you have recyclable, liquid or hazardous waste you may also need to consider the below options.

Recycling Bins

Recycling bins for paper and cardboard are important for the sustainability of corporate businesses. Recycling bins can be provided in both rear lift and front lift styles above – so from as small as 120L to as large as 4.5m3.

Commingled recycling of construction & demolition waste is carried out off-site at material recovery facilities. With options for large volumes of source separated waste streams (like timber or metal) to be transported to recycling facilities that are geared towards processing those separated waste types (if the bins content is all the same type of waste).

Liquid Waste Removal / Grease Trap Services

Liquid waste like grease, oil and septic waste can’t be disposed of in any of the above bins – this is particularly important for hotels, restaurants and other businesses in the hospitality industry. If you need to dispose of liquid waste you’ll need to organise a liquid vacuum tanker to drain your septic tank or grease trap. Our tankers can remove liquid waste from 5,000L to 10,000L capacity.

Hazardous Waste Removal

Another waste type that cannot be disposed of in the bins above is hazardous waste, which includes things like asbestos, chemicals, engine and hydraulic oil, spoiled food, lubricants, hydrocarbons etc. For this purpose we have registered Skip and Hiab vehicles that are authorised to remove controlled hazardous waste from commercial, industrial, retail and domestic sites.

Again, the above is just a quick overview and comparison of our varying bins and waste management services for businesses. If you are still unsure what services or bins you need for your business, or what collection frequency you’ll require, you can get in touch with us and we’ll help to review your business’ waste production and recommend a waste management solution tailored to you.
